Once a pregnancy is confirmed, we would be happy to send you  send you an "Adoptive Parent Questionnaire" along with pedigrees, photos and health certificates. Please be aware that this breed is truly a gift from God but does have special environmental needs and health issues.  You should be familiar with these issues before you make your final decision to add a Berner to your family.  We have included many links which we hope will help answer all your questions and familiarize you with various aspects of this incredible breed.  If after reviewing these sites you still have questions, please feel free to email us and we'll try to respond in a timely fashion.  If we don't know the answer, we'll find someone who does.

About Us (Dawn & Tim Gabig): We live with our 3 Bernese Mountain Dogs and 1 Tibetan Spaniel in Eastern North Carolina. Dawn has been exhibiting in Conformation as a hobby for more than 40 years and has had Bernese Mountain Dogs since 1984.  She is a professional Dog Show Photograper ( and enjoys: Conformation, Agility, Drafting, Obedience and an occasional Breeding. Tim's first love is Tracking and he is the best Dog Toy ever.  We were first introduced to Berners when Dawn purchased our first Berner, CH Blackjack Showtime Ante Up "Marshal" in 1984. His love, temperament, and beauty were so special, we were sold on this breed for life.  We are active members of the Bernese Mountain Dog Club of America (BMDCA).  Dawn was President/Vice President for the Hearland Bernese Mountain Dog Club for over 10 years. Since moving to NC, we have joined the Blue Ridge Bernese Mountain Dog Club.
Litters/Puppies: Please take the time to be a responsible, well educated buyer. This breed is currently in trouble due to recent popularity on TV and other advertising media.  That brings with it the problems of mass production from puppymills which do not take the time to learn to properly breed dogs with healthier pedigrees.  Please be patient and stay within the recognized regional or national breed club (Bernese Mountain Dog Club of America) system when looking for a breeder or puppy.  We do not breed often but are planning a very special litter in the near future. If you would like more information, please email us and tell us a bit about yourself and what you are looking for in a Berner.
